Ecological taxation and
pricing instruments are aimed to improve environmental management, including
taxes on the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. forests, minerals,
fisheries), user charges and fees (e.g. water charges, street parking fees and
permits or licences on natural resources), taxes or charges on polluting
emissions (e.g. air pollution) and reforms to subsidies (e.g. on pesticides,
water, energy).
