The aim of the Networked Society City Index is to measure the
performance of cities from two perspectives: their ICT maturity and their
sustainable urban development; the Triple Bottom Line. A hierarchical index
model is chosen to make the methods easier to appreciate.
The indicators included in the index are selected so that the
merged effect can represent a meaningful composite indicator. However, the most
meaningful indicators are not always possible to measure or collect. When
selecting the indicators, it is therefore necessary to be aware of the
possibilities to collect the required data for cities all over the world
